local history and making it accessible to our communities and visitors.
Women in History 2024
Saturday, March 23
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Join us for a presentation honoring the women of Douglas County who have contributed to the rich history and quality of life in our community.
Doors open at 1:00 p.m. Community Meet & Greet. Presentation begins at 2:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served after the presentation. Free Admission
The program is inspired by the National Women’s History and the Nevada Women’s History Project. It is designed to collect the stories of Douglas County women who might otherwise be forgotten. The stories and biographies collected become part of the DCHS Van Sickle Research Center’s archives housed at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville and are also filed with the Nevada Women’s History Project in Reno.
