The program is inspired by the National Women’s History and the Nevada Women’s History Project. It is designed to collect the stories of Douglas County women who might otherwise be forgotten. The stories and biographies collected become part of the DCHS Van Sickle Research Center’s archives housed at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville and are also filed with the Nevada Women’s History Project in Reno.
